Hi Neil,

Thanks for the reply. I had a quick visual check at them when I was there, they "seemed" to be okay, the 3 above the coolant housing were all secure and the one to the T/B seemed fine. The one from the battery to the chassis leg and gearbox mount again seemed to be okay. Forgot to take my meter with me.... :brickwall:

blue temp sensor,check if ok.

vacum hose to ecu.Make sure it is in tact and is exactly 100 cm.

Do you have fuel?

Is fuel pump priming?

Check fuel pump relay.

Check ecu relay .

These things can cause bad/non-runner syndrome.

Temp sensor I'll change as a matter of course as I know they're problematic.

Hose from ECU seemed fine and didn't show signs of age, without measuring, I would guess it was the mandatory 1000mm but again, I'll replace it as a matter of course along with all of the other vacuum piping.

Was showing just under half tank, fuel being injected into cylinders, thats the problem, it was injecting way too much!

What effects do you get if the ECU relay is playing up? Inconsistant voltage to control unit??

Thanks for the reply.

Is the spark strong enough to ignite the mixture though..??

Does the engine try to start,i.e does it cough and rumble at all.

Any signs of combustion on the plugs,i.e are they sooty or are they just wet?

Managed to get the engine to run once, but only for about 20 seconds or so, idle only.

Checked and getting a good spark.

The plugs are soaked with fuel although when it had been running the plugs were sooted up.....

I would buy and fit and new ECU relay, FP relay, ignition switch, fuel filter and BTS if you don't know if they have been done recently and go from there...

Could well be the hall sender (in the dizzy) starting to break down

Most likely getting the car this week so I'll have a better chance to get a proper look over it and check all of the usual problem areas.

Thanks for the replies.
