can you put a mk3 2ltr GTI bottom end onto a g60?

 

whats involved and what gains would you get from doing this

i think the mk 3 3litre engine is a tall block, so no good?

even if you can, the G60 block is forged and strengthened from standard so is MUCH more capable of handing the extra stresses from supercharging than the Mk3 block is.

 

stick with the G60 engine, there's still a ton of potential in it.

cheers gents just seen 1 for cheap and was wondering what the possibilty was of doing this as im getting a leak down test done

on mine soon to see whether its worth fiddling or whether i should start with a new g60 engine build it up myself and then swap over when finished
