Temp gauge sits at 70-80C and fuel gauge is at 0

As topic says.

The MFA temp works, could it still be the voltage regulator that's defect? (The soldering on it seem to be ok).

The temp gauge goes straight up there when the ignition is set to on.

Just did a test on the voltage regulator, and it seem to be operating ok, anyone got any idea what might cause this problem then?

Voltage regulator measures:

Input: aprox 12V

Output: aprox 9.99V

Which Corrado is this on mate? On my G60 the black temp sender (next to the blue one on the front of the block) is the one which measures the water temp in the dash, but not sure if this is the same on the others...

my guess would be temp sender,

i'd always work from there back towards the guage itself in terms of trouble shooting.

What sender is it?, and would that effect the fuel gauge as well?

(is it located at the same place as the "blue" temp sensor?)

Any idea if I could connect my Motometer cluster from my Passat VR6?

The Corrado have VDO cluster.......

Just to make sure it's in the cluster the error is.

Where is the temp sender located for the temp gauge?

As I guess that one too is bad, as I just testet with the cluster from my Passat VR6, and the fuel gauge came on ok, but the temp gauge went up to 80-90C's when I started the car.

If it's in the area of the blue temp sensor, how do you remove the cover over them ?, (without breaking it that is...;) )

Not sure on the VRs but on the G60 it is the black one next to the blue one. There is a small clip which just pulls out to the side, and then the sensor pulls out. Do it when cold though - the last you need is hot coolant everywhere. Hopefully one of the VR boys will be along soon, but I would also suggest the search
