fla 9 Posted July 14, 2008 The driver side caliper on my car seems loose - a while back when it was running (LOL) there was a rumble from the driver side which it turns out was caused by the caliper shake. Is there any way to reuce or minimise this? I have removed the caliper, greased the pins and pushed teh boot over it and then refitted the caliper but it still seems to shake very slightly. The passenger side is fine. Of course teh bolts can only be done up to about 20Nm, so thats not the issue.
Supercharged 2 Posted July 14, 2008 Front or rear? are the carrier bolts tight? Is the caliper actually working - ie disc is being cleanly wiped and pads are not worn inconsistently etc
fla 9 Posted July 14, 2008 Front caliper, carrier bolts are tight, you can actually move the caliper slightly by hand to 'feel' the slack, if you see what i mean.
boost monkey 0 Posted July 14, 2008 How tight are the carrier bolts? They can seize pretty badly, which would make you think they're done up fully when they're not. Might be worth triple checking. Also, in which direction is the slack in? Maybe your guide pins have worn, simulating slack in the caliper.
