turns out my VR6 has either a smoked head or it pushed the gasket.

where does everyone get their manuals from? im not familiar with VW's and a manual would help greatly.

and would anyone like to pass on any tricks or tips on replacing the head/ head gasket?

the bentley manual is the one you will need, not cheap though at about £80 on flea bay.

 

get a compression test before you go ripping the head off though

we already compression tested. we did 2 or 3 cylinders (cant remember its been a long day) and compression never got above 40 pounds

If you just want a manual for the engine, get the Haynes Golf/Passat that includes the 12v AAA engine code VR6, oh and there's this "Rustek" VR6 repair procedures manual kicking around, but I don't know how good it is.

As said numerous times the Bentley book is less than £50 delivered from Amazon.ca (no import duty / vat on books remember) and even cheaper if you can find a voucher code - it really is a must have for all Corrado owners!

 

Russek manual tho is ideal for the VR engine - £6.49 from WH Smith (free delivery to your local)
