Sorry for the delay in getting back to you guy's - it has been a bit busy at work!

As Darren said the demo on John Mitchell's car was truly impressive. His Corrado had been sitting in his workshop for almost a year and had picked up a layer of dust and debris all over the paintwork. He washed it in the usual way but the paintwork still felt as rough as a badger's bum when you rubbed your hand over it. He felt he was going to have to get someone to compound it all over with a mechanical mop & then spend many hours of hard graft to polish it back. But half an hour with the clay bar treatment and then an application of cleaner fluid and wax and the car is ready for any show & shine.

What is Swissol?

Swissol is a complete automotive care system consisting of natural washing, cleaning and feeding products. Like many great products, the company?s waxes were originally designed around the kitchen table. The old Anwander chemist shop was the original laboratory as well as production site for the first jars of "Antikwachs" (Antique Wax) - a formula developed in the late 19th century for precious antiques and lacquers.

From these humble beginnings of those first precious jars of Antikwachs, the Anwander family's passion for colours, lacquers, paints and waxes have taken them far. For over three generations, the original formula has been updated and modified through extensive research and testing.

Each swizöl container is still blended and poured exclusively by hand. The rare, natural products used in swizöl products, are amongst the most expensive and luxurious ever put into automotive care products. There are quite simply no compromises when it comes to the pursuit of the ultimate wax and automotive car system. We invite you to try swizöl for yourself and see why it?s products are famous amongst car enthusiasts all over Europe.

The Swissol secret!

Swissol contains no petrochemical solvents or abrasives, so it is safe for all types of paint finish, including new clear coats and classic lacquers. The waxes are very easy to apply and will not leave any white residue or build up along seams or crevices.

Swissol waxes have a carnauba wax content ranging between 30% to 60% by volume, some 5 to 10 times greater than the industry standard. The carnauba used is rare grade one from Brazil. It is the world?s purest, hardest and most transparent natural wax. This gives both greater protection and increased depth of gloss.

Swissol uses nutritive oils of coconut, banana and cinnamon (to name a few) to replace the oils originally found in your vehicle?s paint finish. They do not contain any harsh chemicals or abrasives. In fact, it is this exclusive formula that creates a glow that goes far beyond the normal perception of ?shiny?. This is the swizöl advantage, science and nature in harmony!

With the Swiss reputation for excellence of quality and precision, you can be assured of the authenticity of the product. Every product for sale is guaranteed to be genuine merchandise, created and packaged in Switzerland by Anwander & Co. AG as the original and unique manufacturer. Each container carries a registered trademark, which authenticates that the contents are formulated to a precise blend of ingredients that are crafted to the highest of standards of quality, safety and performance.

The complete product range has no equal for:

Purity and quality of the ingredients used in the formulations.

Ease of application and use.

Economy of use.

Quality of finish achieved.

Longevity of the applied finish.

Product packaging.

And finally, but most importantly, environmental and personal safety during use is assured.

Some of you perhaps ask the question "Why does it cost so much?"

Perhaps after reading the above your question has been answered. However in order to justify further look

at at it this way.

A Starter Kit contains the following:

a 250ml bottle of shampoo concentrate (we have extracted the Aqua ala water to make a super concentrate) and this will give around 600 litres of wash water enough for some 40 odd washes.

You also get 250ml of Paint Cleaning Fluid to cleanse the paint and to restore it former lustre and is enough for 4 applications or 2yrs of supply being done every 6 months.

A 250 grm pot of wax which will provide around 45 to 50 complete waxings of your car...wax once per month as recommended for optimum gloss and protection you have 4 yrs worth of wax, you also get all the requisite applicators and buffing towels

Tyre Treat to look after your tyres, an owners handbook/guide which tells you "How To" for each product plus tons of tips etc and a free storgage container to keep all the gear in.

Therefore on a cost per application the cost whilst initially to appear duanting is in fact very cheap for the finest ingredients.

Why don't other manufactures make the same kind of products...the answer is that these products do not lend themselves to mass production and the ingredients are very expensive.

Nearly all other manufacturers will use solvents, abrasives, and silicones and some real nasties like naptha, ammonium biflouride, xylene etc. we also do not use any acids be they weak or strong solutions.

As Darren stated I can offer 20% discount to group buys of 5 or more. Swissol is not cheap, but having invested in an initial Entry Collection Kit, you will only need to purchase one bottle of car bath (£15) a year, a bottle of cleanse (£19) every other year, and a pot of wax (from £35) every 4 years. For the cost of a couple of tanks of fuel you will have a system that will not only allow you to acheive an unbelievable shine but also protect your paintwork at the same time.

The retail prices of the various Entry Collections are as follows:

Onyx Wax Starter Kit £100

Saphir Wax starter Kit £129

Shield Wax Starter Kit incl. paint rubber £149

Concorso Wax Starter Kit £169

If you are interested in a group buy, please check out the website:

http://www.swissol.co.uk

and order yourself a free Swissol Car Care Handbook first. This fully details the system and how it works.

If you would like to put your name down for the group buy, contact me by clicking the PM button and I will send you more details.

Sorry for the length of this post, but it is difficult to explain the system in brief.

Darren,

The kit that John got was a Shield Wax with teflon Entry collection kit, which includes a paint rubber (clay bar).

You can purchase the clay bars seperately if you like, the normal price for these is £20. Or buy the paint rubber kit, which includes the clay bar & Quick Finish ( a light spray wax to use as a lubricant). You don't need to use Quick Finish to use the clay bar as you can use water as a lubricant if you like. Please note that Swissol clay bars are about 3 times the size of the Maguire ones and we only used a quarter of the bar when we did John's car. This could still be used again, but if you drop the clay bar you really need to throw it away, so its a good idea not to use it all at the same time.

If you buy the clay bar seperately you can purchase any of the Entry Collection kits, the only difference is the wax. Onyx wax is about 30% by volume grade 1 Carnuba wax, Saphir just over 40%, & Concorso 48%. Shield wax is a very similar make up to Saphir, but also has the added Teflon which makes it more difficult for dirt to stick to the car. The Shield wax kit also come with the clay bar, as I have said before.

The cost of these with 20% discount is:

Onyx Wax Entry Collection Kit £80.00

Saphir Wax Entry Collection Kit £103.20

Shiled Wax with Teflon Entry Collection Kit incl. Paint Rubber £119.20

Concorso Wax Entry Collection Kit £135.20

Paint Rubber (clay bar) £16.00

Paint Rubber Kit £24.00

Postage & Packing is £7 for entry kits, £3 for clay bars & £5 for paint rubber kits.

I hope this helps :D

So what's the difference between the paint rubber and the paint rubber kit?

Think I might go for the Shield wax kit - I presume that has the clay bar?

The paint rubber is just the clay bar on its own - which is fine as you can use it with water as a lubricant.

The paint rubber kit come with a product called Quick Finish - this is a light spray wax (about 10% Carnuba), to use as a lubricant. By its nature it is a bit more slippery than water so makes it slightly easier to use the clay bar. You can also use Quick Finish as a quick buff up polish to remove fingerprints or water marks between full wax applications (but on a clean car).

As you said the Shield Wax kit comes with the clay bar.

Thanks Glyn, that clears things up a bit.

I'll need the clay bar. Say if I went for the Concorso kit I'd be looking at approx £150 compared to the £119.20 of Shield Wax. Is the extra £30 or so justified?

Also, in the future what will be the cost of replacement Concorso wax and Shield Wax.

TIA

Amit

Amit,

Concorso wax does have a higher content of grade 1 carnuba wax in it at 48% compared with just over 40% with the Shield wax. Therefore Concorso will give you a deeper, wet "show car" shine than Shield on well prepared paintwork (ie after a clay bar treatment). It is a superior wax, but costs more accordingly.

The normal retail prices of 236mls wax on their own are as follows:

Onyx £35.00

Saphir £65.00

Shield with Teflon £65.00 - wax only

Shield with Teflon + Paint Rubber kit £85.00

Concorso £105.00

Mystery £260.00 - 55% Carnuba

Devine £1,120.00 - >60% Carnuba, lifetime supply.

For normal road use cars Concorso would be the top of the range.

For most people who are using their cars as daily driver's and whose cars spend a lot of time outside I would recommend Shield Wax with Teflon as the best kit. However, if you are serious about concours & want the ultimate shine, go for the Concorso. Having said that Onyx wax is far superior to any so called "polish" waxes, and unlikely to disappoint if you don't want to run to the Shield Wax kit.
