samthegram 10 Posted September 19, 2008 I have had a number of mechanical/phisical upgrades done to the engine as part of a rebuild. These are ; Re-bore with forged pistons, re-built head (ported), lightened + balanced flywheel, kr inlet cam, 4-branch heat wrapped manifold, k+n in 'box with a cold air feed. What can be done as regards a remap/tune up with the k-jet system to make everything run smoothly? :confused4: Where is good to go for a rolling road session in the north west? :confused4:
boost monkey 0 Posted September 19, 2008 You can't remap the standard chip, it's just set at factory. The headwork will be the only thing that will massively change the running of the engine, and even then I'm guessing it still has standard valves in? That said though, I think you can adjust the fuel pressure on the metering head to allow more fuel through, someone else will know about this better than I do though. hth, Jon. samthegram 10 Posted September 19, 2008 How about one of those dreaded ebay chips claiming to up bhp from standard to 154?!? Has anyone tried them/ are they a load of s*#t?
boost monkey 0 Posted September 19, 2008 you said it. there's more mapping software in an Etch a Sketch than in one of those cheapo chips. do some research though, there's definitely some fettling that can be done. Look up "WUR mod" too :salute:
