For those with Brembo's fitted.....can you use G60 carriers?

Recommended Posts

As title states really, I have a set of SEAT Ibiza Cupra R 305 mm brakes to fit to my rado. Can I use the standard G60 front caliper carriers ? Or do I have to use SEAT ones.

Cheers

Yup, that's them! They should bolt onto the original bolt points to allow the caliper to be mounted at 90 deg to them.

Quality, that means nearly have everything now brake-wise ready to fit.

Just ordered a pair of alloy MK4 calipers for £103 delivered which was good price, and will paint them red myself. And seeing as I saved money here, ordered a pair or new caliper carriers and slider pins from VW for £127.04 delivered. So brake spec now will be as follows:

Brembo 4-pot front calipers with alloy carriers

305x28mm front brembo slotted discs

Brembo pads

MK4 alloy rear calipers

New VAG G60 rear caliper carriers

Brembo rear discs

AP Racing rear pads

Also have new bearings front and rear and new handbrakes cables to fit as well, should be a massive improvement !

Mmmmnn....................Brembo goodness and complete new rear brakes inc. caliper carriers and MK4 alloy calipers.

Think they need to do some miles though to bed in properly, as quite a lot of pedal force required / travel before they stop ! May try and remedy this by fitting the larger master cylinder from an Audi S2 though.
