vrtoad 0 Posted December 1, 2008 hello everyone i'm new to this so please nobody shout at me and tell me to use the search! ive searched here and google and cant really find out what i need. got a 95 corrado vr6. it has trouble ticking over when its cold - i need to keep my foot on the gas or it cuts out. if im really gentle releasing the gas it will idle but at 400 or so rpm. its like the automatic choke isnt working (if it has such a thing)it seems to run perfectly once its been running for a minute or 2. ive found people talking about idling problems when the cars hot and fine when its cold but mine seems to be the opposite to this. ive changed the main temp sensor in the therostat n it made no difference, ive also looked around my vacuum hoses and they all seem in tact with no splits thanks in advance
ZippyVR6 0 Posted December 1, 2008 Ello and welcome along. have you cleaned the ISV? Mine was rough as a dog, It never stalled, but revs would be all over the place trying to idle. Once this was cleaned it made a huge difference.
