bananawhip 0 Posted February 24, 2009 Sorry for yet another boring post but does anybody know the torque setting for the oil cap bit the holds oil/water exchange (or in my case mocal sandwhich plate on) Mine seems to be leaking a bit and I'm not sure if i've done it up too tight or the opposite Muchos Grazias
mic_VR 3 Posted February 24, 2009 Should be done up to 25Nm (18ft lb's) if you mean the Oil cooler cover.
bananawhip 0 Posted February 24, 2009 Should be done up to 25Nm (18ft lb's) if you mean the Oil cooler cover. Cool beans cheers for that, knew somebody would know. If the oil cooler cover is that plate a bit bigger then the size of a pringles lid, that the extension bar screws into when fitting a mocal then that's the one I'm after, pretty sure I gave it a right armful so I've probably squashed the seals :? mic_VR 3 Posted February 24, 2009 That sounds like the one, you should have 2 seals (1 between block and cooler, 1 between cooler and oil cap) and much like the cap on the oil filter housing it doesn't need to be overly tight. Might be worth having another look at it to make sure nothing has cracked if you've given it to much righty tighty!
