dutchboy 0 Posted March 2, 2009 I have a bit of a weird problem. When I look at my two front wheels from head on, the nearside wheel seems to stick out further than the offside wheel probably by about 20 - 30 mm!! Any ideas? Cheers
Yandards 0 Posted March 2, 2009 Yes, sounds like you have an early and late wheel arch fitted. The later outer arches are wider to accomodate the wider VR6 track, but a few wings have been replaced in accidents with the wrong ones, its quite hard to spot as 30mm is not a great deal of difference on compound curves. dutchboy 0 Posted March 2, 2009 damn. thats annoying!! it's a 1993 16v so it should have the wider arches right? So the one on the nearside is probably the one that has been replaced with an early one. Oh well more money!
dutchboy 0 Posted March 3, 2009 well i've measured my arches and they are exactly the same?!!! :confused4: Any idea what else it could be?
Critical_Mass 10 Posted March 3, 2009 Do you mean its point out further (toe out) or the whole wheel appears to be sat further out?
davidwort 0 Posted March 3, 2009 try straightening the steering wheel  ...sorry :| what wheels do you have on?, is it possible one has been replaced with the same design but a different offset? the 'ET' (offset) mark should be cast somewhere on the wheel. Yandards 0 Posted March 3, 2009 well i've measured my arches and they are exactly the same?!!! :confused4: Any idea what else it could be? At which point did you measure? Only was to tell is to measure from the inner wing to the middle centre of the arch.
