daniboy1_2_3 0 Posted March 15, 2009 Hi there, i have a 1992 corrado G60 and the central locking has stopped working. Can anyone tell me how this system works and where to start faultfinding? Im assuming there are two solonoids interconnected and triggered by the key? although i have heard the system may be gas filled? im working offshore and cant have a look myself and need to pass on some info to my dad. vwdeviant 0 Posted March 15, 2009 There's a Vaccum pump in the driver's side rear 1/4 (in boot) and this is activated electrcally by the locks. If you lock it and can hear the pump working (listen near the filler cap) then it probably means a pipe's come off... They normally come adrift on the doors so cards off and have a look... or there's T piece under the dash, this will show up by neither door unlocking. daniboy1_2_3 0 Posted March 17, 2009 Sorry if this has been asked a lot but im working offshore and dont have a lot of time to get the information i want. Im just wondering what (if anything) needs to be removed from the boot to gain access to the vacuum pump. Assuming this pump isnt working, is there a fuse in the circuit that could be checked first?. Is it the microswitch that triggers the pump on both locks?. Also where is this T-piece that connects both locks to the vacuum line located? millerman 0 Posted March 17, 2009 i had this problem and the easyest fix is to remove the door locks and clean it with brake cleaner and then get loads of greese into it and make sure its nice and free replace it and that worked for me i did find that the door locks where really caked up and not very free at all the greese in mine had more dust and cack in than any thing else see if that works first :) Quote Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
