Recommended Posts

Does anyone know how to

1) Remove the gear knob (1994 Corrado)

2) remove leather gear gator / sleeve so that i can replace the leather

Cheers

The knob unscrews, you can then lift the gear stick surround off as an entire section complete with gaitor, if you look at the underside the gaiter is held in place by some screws.

Or if its like the old one i had on you'll need to do it in reverse order as the knob and gaitor were all the one part......which meant it would only unscrew one turn until you released the surround :D

What actually holds the gaitor up to the knob? On mine they don't seem like they fit together at all, so am I missing some clips or something or should i just ziptie it?

There is a round plastic clip that fits around the base of the gearknob that you clip into place after the top of the gaitor is pressed up against the base of it. That holds it in place.
