diff between 1.8 8v jetta and g60 corrado engine blocks

i have a 1.8 8v jetta 92 engine, i want to know if theres any difference between that engine and a 1.8 8v g60 corrado engine block, because im thinkin maybe i can use a supercharger of a g60 corrado engine and put in on the jetta engine instead of swaping the whole engine.. any info would be greatly appretiated

I'm not 100% sure but i don't think the jetta mill has oil cooling jets,

there won't be a drain line for the charger's oil line,small job of drilling and tapping maybe?.

extra cooling passages in the block may not be present,the large oval passage right under the timing

sprocket won't be there,which is a good thing seeing as it serves fuk all.

I may be mistaken but i'm not sure if the jetta/golf had a forged crank or not.

No provision for the Digifart's knock sensor that's originally fitted in that fake core plug,although

if the golf/jetta engine originally had Digi fitted there possibly was a knock sensor fitted somewere.

Cant think very clearly as i've got the 'effin flu... :(

Also the compression ratio will be too high in the jetta engine for FI so you will have to address that too.

A lot of difference, unfortunately you can't just bolt on the G60 head and charger.

yeah, as everyone else said really.

 

I had a Jetta 8v for a bit when Prodigal got his G60 and cosmetically they're pretty similar but definitely a lot to be changed over.

 

There might even be things you haven't thought about like the cylinder liners not being rated for excess pressure, so may be thinner than in a G60 block. Those kind of things.
