too hot 0 Posted November 24, 2002 My Corrado has full electric Recaro interior and I was thinking of changing it to black leather. I don`t know if I should have the Recaros re trimmed or should I try to find a second hand leather interior and sell off the Recaros.Anyone got any experiences of re-trims or any recommendations as to who could do it.I think my first choice would be MJ Interiors as I have seen his work in numerous show cars and it always looks excellent. What about Audi TT style baseball glove stitching in a Corrado. 8) Any thoughts :?:
VR6 0 Posted November 24, 2002 Personally I'd probably get the recaro's re-trimmed if you can afford it. Or, as you say, the alternative would be to sell the recaro's which should pretty much pay for a second hand leather interior. I'll take the recaro's off your hands for £200 8) always quite liked the seats in the TT's.

Adam M 0 Posted November 27, 2002 I would have the recaros retrimmed, especially if electric. I had my golf nterior done by junior before moving on to subarus and can couch for the quality of his work. Only problem I have ever seen with his work, was a friends fto. He wanted the door trims done but sadly due to the design, there was nowhere to edge off the leather so he had to stick the panel on and simply cover the end of the leather with some black silicon. The final result didnt look right, and junior knew it, so he did not charge for the work at all, cant say fairer than that. One of the nicest people I have ever dealt with! The seats were first rate too.

JohnJ 0 Posted February 25, 2003 TOO HOT, There are plenty of places around Glasgow that will do a good retrim and one is Ballies in Johnstone. They are not the cheapest but you will get a good job (a lot of the executive car dealers use them). Beware cheapo retrims: they use thin crusty leather and weak stitching (double backstitch is what you want!)
too hot 0 Posted February 25, 2003 JohnJ, Cheers John It would be a lot easier getting it done locally. :) You going through to the rolling road day. :?:

Valver 0 Posted April 17, 2003 vr6storm is correct, I have a pair of leather Sapphire Cosworth recaros in my Golf, which have had Scirocco subframes supplied/fitted to them by MJ. NB: these recaros may be for sale soon, as I am having the Audi TT recaros fitted soon. (the TT seats tilt forward, whereas the Ford ones dont :( )
