Mawrick 0 Posted April 30, 2009 Just out of curiosity, is it possible to fit a Golf 4 R32 steering wheel with airbag in a Corrado VR6 with original airbags in it?, anyone done anything like this?
mattnorgrove 0 Posted April 30, 2009 Not sure mate, I'm pretty sure no UK spec Corrado's came with airbags though, so don't know if you could retro fit them really. I assume it would require looms/sensors etc, unless your already has airbags??
Mawrick 0 Posted April 30, 2009 Mine already have double airbags
mattnorgrove 0 Posted April 30, 2009 I suppose it's possible then, how you would go about it though, I do not know my friend! The spline on the steering column of your Corrado would need to be the same diameter as the MK4, unless that could be swapped over, from the MK4 into the C? Not very helpful i know!
yeti 0 Posted April 30, 2009 Well the easiest way might be to replace the steering column one out of a mk4 - my r32 one fits basically straight in although the mounting holes need slotted if i remember right! Then you have the correct spline and position and then fit an R32 wheel 8)
Mawrick 0 Posted April 30, 2009 hmm, ok, will be an eventuall future project (somewhere far into the future I guess), but would it use the same sensors etc?........or much difference here?
VR6 0 Posted May 1, 2009 Just fit a manual button near the steering wheel and hope/pray that your reactions are good enough ;) It's been talked about before but I don't think it's going to be all that easy. Might be just as easy to modify the steering rather than replace the whole column.
