swiftkid 1 Posted May 19, 2009 Not sure if anyone will know this, but can i use the piston rod bolts that fit into a ford galaxy 2.8 VR6 engine in my 2.9 VR6 engine, as i've said in another thread, vw want £9.04+vat a bolt and i need 12, whereas ford want £6.50+vat
davidwort 0 Posted May 19, 2009 the sharan 2.8 uses the same part as the C 2.9 VR6 077105425B HTH

swiftkid 1 Posted May 19, 2009 the vw sharan... im in the same boat tho as they are still going to be £9.04 each from vw. i've had a quote from ford (as mentionned in my other topic) for a rod bolts at £6.50 each which is a good saving.
davidwort 0 Posted May 19, 2009 sorry, my point was the circa 2000 sharan will probably have the same engine as the Galaxy (built on the same line IIRC) from what I can see all the VW VR engines, Corrado Golf sharan, use the same bolts, regardless of age or capacity 2.8/2.9, so it's a pretty safe bet the Galaxy is the same.
