lockdown 0 Posted June 22, 2009 Don't think so mate, if they did I think they would cost loads. Company that advertises in pvw called Exchange Engines could help you out. £970 exchange for a fully rebuilt (basically new) engine
Critical_Mass 10 Posted June 22, 2009 Try Vege UK or NL
Toad 0 Posted June 22, 2009 Yup. Vege have a good reputation, but VW also sell engines. Will be expensive though...
Critical_Mass 10 Posted June 22, 2009 and i can personally recommend Vege, their service is great and the engine hasnt missed a beat. Now on 8.5k miles and not a problem with any oil/water leaks. Runs sweet as.. :D Though i did pay about £2k for the engine. Some might argue you could get a 1.8 20vt engine for that.
Jim 2 Posted June 23, 2009 Yeah - but then you'd be driving around in a soul-less 4 cylinder.. I'd have stuck with the VR personally ;)

I wanted to stick with the VR too, so was willing to spend the 2k on an older designed engine.
