hendrikbmx 0 Posted July 24, 2009 hi, i've been a happy owner of a '94 corrado vr6 for 2 months.i live in Estonia and the car was brought from Switzerland . 2 weeks ago my WP started wobbling and my local garage car mechanics said its too difficult to change yadayada ( they told me i should take it to AUDI, that's 60km away from me.) , i guess they never seen a vr6 before. so after searching some info on how to do it myself i found some good tutorials.so i ordered a new pump and it took me 5 hours to change it. now the problems: first , when i got the airbox off, i found this: its been cut and welded. Should i just clean/paint it to prevent more rust? and now what really bothers me, the seals are like cracked and the edge is like 1-3mm opened.how bad is this, whats can i do about this? and the third thing is that the front engine mount (steel part that holds the engine on the bush ) is cracked on one side, does anyone know the part nr ? thanks alot. VEEDUBBED 0 Posted July 24, 2009 Hmm,that motor of your looks as if at some point its had a prang... I reckon you should just get some Sikaflex sealant and go over the cracked sealant, not a lot else you can do really. As for the mount,i'm not sure if the vr's front bracket is different than the G60 jobbie,if they are the same i've got a few spare. Cheers.
Supercharged 2 Posted July 27, 2009 Hello, I wouldn't say the paint is too bad considering the age of the car but obviously needs attention to stop it getting worse... You need to change that bracket though and yes, it is VR6 specific.
