Difference between early and late subframes?

Does anyone know what the difference is between the early and late front seat subframes?

 

Is it anything to do with the way they actually connect to the car?

I don't believe there is a difference between the early or late front seat subframes. They all look the same to me. And they both connect to the car in the same way. I don't think that changed through the production run of the car.
