MonkeyVR6 0 Posted September 27, 2009 Hi chaps, As above really took the gearbox out and its now in the process of being rebuilt. Had to remove quite a lot of stuff to get at the gearbox, is there anything I should check/replace while I've got the opportunity? Cheers.

G60_Marc 0 Posted September 27, 2009 Replacing the crank seal / gasket behind the flywheel might be worth doing. Have a good look behind the flywheel for signs of oil. I removed my gearbox a while back, installed a new gearbox and 1 month later had a major oil leak on the crank end gasket. pic :bad-words: Also check the clutch and pressure plate for wear, cracks and over heating. If you do all of this you will also need to replace the flywheel bolts and the pressure plate bolts. This was on my G60, i am not %100 sure if VR's use the same end seal / gasket setup. MonkeyVR6 0 Posted September 27, 2009 Gearbox mount. Am going to order one of these from Volkswagen next week. I've already replaced the front and rear engine mounts. Have also bought a clutch and this clutch install kit and alignment tool from the USA: http://www.germanautoparts.com/Volkswag ... lutch/54/
