B41LEY 0 Posted October 5, 2009 Subject to a compression check confirming the worst i believe my head gasket is knackered! Car has been using lots of coolant over the past few weeks, there is lots of steam coming out the exhaust even when the engine is warm has so much pressure in the coolant system it is blowing out of the expansion tank. The only plus side is it hasn't been over heating. The car has covered just over 109,000 miles and has no history of the timing chains ever been replaced so i plan to get this done whilst having the head work done. Most expensive quote so far for parts and labour is £1550+vat, cheapest £750+vat. Just wondering what peoples thoughts are on this price? Does £750+vat sound resonable?
