lilfuzzer 1 Posted October 12, 2009 Hi all need to gauge option on this. My car currently runs a dizzy and I have a spare coil pack engine (but no coil pack) from 95 car. Is it worthwhile changin to coilpack or keep with the dizzy motor. If changing to coilpack what additional stuff is needed wiring loom etc. Any adice and options greatly appreciated. Thanks
Toad 0 Posted October 12, 2009 Engine wiring loom, ecu, timing chain end plate, cam position sensor, cam position sensor ring. I think....
CorradoVR6-Turbo 0 Posted October 12, 2009 If its for a stock motor then no,but if you want to go FI then OBD2 would be far better and would be the same amount of work swapping to coilpack :)
too hot 0 Posted October 12, 2009 Why would you want to go to the effort? is the dizzy not more reliable than the coilpack?
lilfuzzer 1 Posted October 13, 2009 Thanks for the replies. I was wondering as engine going to be rebuilt and wondered if there was any advantage for turboing it. sorry forgot tomentio that in first post :) James do you recon the dizzy would cope with the FI as only going low boost ? Too hot as above with theengine build Iam not sure which one is more reliable so thought I'd post and gauge the answer Thanks Toad thought there would be quite a lot
