ryan_16v 0 Posted November 3, 2009 I would tell your insurance about all mods, this way you will be covered if you have an accident. They dont allways increase your premium for some mods. Better safe then sorry.
Jay23Sx 0 Posted November 4, 2009 Didn't think the Mk1 Focus came with an RS option ? Wasn't until Mk2 until the ST came along and only recently the RS.
ryan_16v 0 Posted November 4, 2009 Didn't think the Mk1 Focus came with an RS option ? Wasn't until Mk2 until the ST came along and only recently the RS. I guess the Mk1 bit refers to an escort mk1.??
Flexso 0 Posted November 4, 2009 Yeah there is def a mk1 focus RS. there is two of them local to me. The purpose of the dump valve is to dump compressed air into the atmosphere. I guess you could call it more a healthy option for a turbo car.
Flexso 0 Posted November 4, 2009 I think this is it.
Typhy 0 Posted November 4, 2009 lol yeah of course there is a mk1 RS focus lol? they made 4501 of them from 2002 to 2004 there was a mk1 phase 1 and a mk 1 phase 2, they then created the ST and then the new RS, the original RS focus was going to be another racing focus liek the racing puma but due to the poor sales of the puma they revived hte RS badge
Kevin Bacon 5 Posted November 4, 2009 An aftermarket dump valve will only provide a performance gain if the factory fitted one was leaking  One thing to check though; if the Focus engine uses a MAF sensor (STs do, not sure about the Zetec turbo) then you won't be using a dump valve. You'll need a recirc valve. The Forge 007P is a VERY popular upgrade for recirc users. Strictly speaking you don't need to inform the insurance company since it performs exactly the same role as the standard part and does not boost power....but if it's bling and shiney (and the 007P is) then it's better to be safe and tell them.
