its a shame but it helps the other who like to keep their rados alive

lets face it it does not cost a fortune to run an older car but you can spend a fortune on it if you want

Unfortunately we've reached a point where they are worth more in bits than as a whole car - prices will only go up rom this point though really.

Good for spares now and the value of mint examples but it's a bit sad to see cars with nothing wrong with them being split - with only 10,400 originally shipped into the UK.

It is a shame every time a good rado is broken but on the bright side one corrado taken to bits will help loads more keep going

Well cars like mine are a prime example.

I could spend £xxxx getting mine up to scratch, or i could buy one already done (like some of the 1.8T for sale) and then sell mine, but with the issues with it the car would be worth more broken for spares. Its basically the money

Why worrie about the inevitable, its going to happen, i could give you examples but you all ready know, Escort RS 1600i, opel manta GTE, Escort harrier, these cars fetch silly money and IMO so will the corrado. I have just got into corrado ownership and have no intention of selling mine in the near future, roll on my first summer with VR6. And if i need any spare's i am sure they will be available thanks to those who wish to break theres!

I dont really care... Okey, I can feel bad to see cars scrapped because people are to lazy to fix them.

I got my Corrado.. it runs and I love it, Im happy with it and the other Corrados that are scrapped are just for my benefit.

Tbh it is beneficial for all corrado owners lol. U get parts plus your car goes up in price as they become rarer but then its also a bloody tragedy when u think about it... I think in my 10 months of corrado ownership ive spotted 2 or 3 corrados while driving which really says it all...

Not completely untapped :)

It's a cost vs age thing and nearly every single type made goes through the same cycle, even just rebushing the suspension and changing the springs and dampers for something half decent without using VAG bits is going to set you back £500 in spares. When the car costs that much to start with it's just not good sense to spend that sort of money unless you plan to keep it for a long time.

Couple that with a lack of parts availability, especially interior trim and early panels, the dreaded corrosion (rust) starting to take hold of a few cars and it's no longer a good car to pick up for most people.
