jpowell79 0 Posted March 8, 2010 Guys forgive my lack of knowledge around cars, but can anyoneone first of all help me identify what this is hanging down underneath my car (seems to be hanging too low to me?) and secondly, if it is hanging too low, any suggestions on the best way to fix it? :D cheers
dukest 0 Posted March 8, 2010 its the cat and the cat guard underneath it. probably a bit loose with the hangers wearing a bit or maybe one has broken. not hard to fix i dont suppose though. I had the same and asked quikfit to check and they said it was fine, fix when you want to..
VR6 0 Posted March 8, 2010 Or just hack it off  Edit: Not the cat.

delfinis38 1 Posted March 8, 2010 it's the CAT.. and the shield. the shield is normally that low. if you can get under and see if it's secure. I had to weld the support on the back off mine last year. if it's securly fixed to the cat it's fine. edit.... looks like the support at the front is broken and needs welding. Guest Posted March 8, 2010 Yeak like they said. The weld that holds the cat heat shield often breaks. If you want a quicker fix than getting it welding a huge jubilee clip (or two joined together) wrapped round it and the cat itself will do the trick. Re the suggestion of just cutting the heat shield off, if you do, and your car is low, be careful of parking on long dry grass in the summer (if we ever get one again)
delfinis38 1 Posted March 8, 2010 thanks for this post just looked at mine ! and it needs a blob of weld.... :D by the way on a standard set up RADO the CAT shield is 5inch from the ground. Here's mine needs a blob on the rear !
