wy906 0 Posted March 23, 2010 Hi! Complete newbie here. Looking to buy a VR6. I’ve been browsing the classified and have found one that looks quite good ‘on paper’. It’s a L-Reg 1993 VR6 and has done just under 140,000 miles with FSH. The only thing that concerns me is that in the advert it says ‘Full Replacement ABV rated engine in 2005’. Is this a common thing to have engine replaced? Should I be worried? Many thanks in advance. PS- I hope I've posted this at the right section, if not, Moderator please move. davidwort 0 Posted March 23, 2010 a new or recon ABV (2.9 VR6) engine is going to set someone back a few quid so if the engine source/receipts stack up then it's not a bad thing at all to have been done on a car of that age, potentially thousands could have been spent on it, could give the car another 150K+
wy906 0 Posted March 23, 2010 Thank you. I'll bear that in mind.
