Anybody know of a courier that will take a gearbox 44kg.....

Try talking to a pallet delivery service like Palletline (but there are loads of others if you Google). They specialise in heavier packages.

If you can get it in a box won't someone like DHL take it?

I only say that because I work in IT and sent out a 49.5Kg A3 colour laserjet printer yesterday - it was one huge box (easily fit a gearbox in it I reckon) and DHL took it without a problem. Thinking about it CityLink delivered it to us in the first place.

try paisleyfreight, i've used them for wheels (£25) and a gearbox (£36) to and from NI to England, so good value imo.

The problem with the likes of DHL and UPS is that you need an account to send anything with them.

No you don't. :)

They do charge more if you don't have an account though ...
