poll250 0 Posted March 30, 2010 Hi, Just been informed by one of my friends that everytime I brake, my dip beam comes on. Has anyone experienced this before? I've got a pretty new headlight switch, but not ruling that out I guess. I'm just not sure of where the brake pedal wire comes into contact with the headlight wire? Any ideas folks? PeteL 0 Posted March 30, 2010 Andy viewtopic.php?f=19&t=25670 I had a similar problem, strangely changing the bulbs worked, see link. Cheers
poll250 0 Posted March 30, 2010 Thanks for that, I did replace a tail light bulb the other day with one I had laying about, so that may well of caused it. I'll take a look at lunch! :)
PeteL 0 Posted March 30, 2010 No worries, sounds possible if it was a knackered or incorrect bulb, i had to change both to get mine sorted.

Not sure why  The badly fitted/incorrect bulb tries to earth through the live of the sidelights when the brakes are pressed... this allows power to get to the front sidelights, thus illuminating them, all be it at a lower level than when they're on properly...
