How good a guide is the Bentley Manual?

Recommended Posts

I've had the manual for ages and it's in, I'm ashamed to say, pristine condition. I've always fancied working on the car myself but due to time constraints, haven't. So, hoping to make a start on it now my question is, how similar is my Euro VR6 to the SLC or American VR? The manual refers to a PG or AAA engine throughout. Am I right in saying the European model is ABV? If I am to work on the car using the manual as a guide is there much of a difference in bodywork, electrics, exhaust, engine etc?

Thanks

It's great, but ignore the torque settings it recommends for the outer nut on the rear wheel bearing assembly. If you tighten that to 85Nm your wheels will seize in a week. (the proper amount is more like finger tight and then a small nip with a spanner)

Aside from that I think it's pretty good. And at this point in time it's about as good as you'll get for a Corrado

:D

I find it very difficult to find information in the Bentley book, it's all in there but difficult to find.
