VR6_ROB 0 Posted June 19, 2010 my oil light likes to buzz at me now and again only on corners but today i was having a blast down a country lane and it kept buzzing so i switched the car off for a minute fired it up all was ok if i drive to work steady away its fine i changed the oil pressure switch last week and the oil level is ok could it be a faulty switch??? also what colour wire plugs onto the switch yellow or green Quote Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
krnau 0 Posted June 19, 2010 I had this on my car and it was a faulty oil pump. I had it some time later, and it was because of swapped press switches connectors I think I had it once more due to a faulty switch and then once more due to leaving a disconnected wire so as you see, it may be lots of things; but be careful, if you're really running the engine with low pressure..... :? dirtytorque 0 Posted June 21, 2010 from best case senario to worse. oil used too thin for engine. low oil level in sump.(Is the guide stick holder broken? faulty sender/wiring. oil pump tired. worn engine bearing(Engine rebuild time) remember engine oil thins as it heats so oil pressure will drop.This will be especially evident in an engine with a tired bottom end.
