Did you have a look at the dim dip resistor as mentioned above - this'll have an impact of brightness. It's the big yellow resistor usually on the inside of the passenger wing.

no the hazards have no effect on the dash mate, and havent cjecked the resistor yet, was just gunna put in a uprated loom...is this what you think i should do? how do i get to the resistor and what should i look out for to see if its at fault?
