DanRVW 0 Posted August 11, 2010 Hello everyone! Im kinda new to this forum...but ive got some questions which have been giving me some headaches lately. :brickwall: Before anyone says its been covered, I have searched and searched the internet for more info as well as these forums but ended up more confused haha :cuckoo: (and there isnt much info as to exactly which pads are required) Ive bought some Twin pot Audi calipers (G60 Girling ones). Ive got the 280mm G60 discs. But as they are Audi S2 calipers, i ordered pads for an S2 coupe with the G60 discs from Venom. These ones: http://www.venommotorsport.com/product_details.php?id=12200&manufacturer=Black%20Diamond&category=Brake But when they turned up, they are for single piston calipers and are the wrong size. After looking further on venom and looking at the brake pad shape and dimension guide on there, i assume the twin pots were not fitted to all variations of the S2. Im thinking i need the Audi 80 S2 Quattro brake pads as these seem to be the dimensions i need but cant tell if it has the springs for twin pots? http://www.venommotorsport.com/product_details.php?id=11941&manufacturer=Black%20Diamond&category=Brake Can anybody confirm this? Any help would be great! :) Also...i know i will most likely need a larger master cylinder, i have read Audi UR Quattro ones are good, but appear to be impossible to find. Does anybody know if there is any others that would work (Car is a non ABS 1990 16v) oh...and im putting a 1.8T in it so must clear the cam pulley? Any suggestions would be great! :) Thanks! swiftkid 1 Posted August 12, 2010 My advice would be to give venom a call and tell them what your after, im sure a person would be able to tell you if you have the right ones. As for the master cylinder, some guy on another forum reckons you need to convert to 9" Servo with G60 22.2mm master cylinder, or VR6 23mm M/C. I'm not very clued up about all this but thats what i found when i was looking at S2 calipers. Its a pity you are not 5 stud, could have gone 288, would make life alot easier Some useful info here i do believe http://www.clubgti.com/forum/showthread.php?t=71149 and here http://www.swdubs.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?f=19&t=547 Oh and get some pics up of your rado, im guessing you decided to rip the heart out your A3
DanRVW 0 Posted August 12, 2010 Cheers dave! Didnt know you were on here tbh. Ill see about getting a servo (whats the 9" one off?)....mines rusty as hell so i need a new one. Is the G60 Master cylinder for ABS? Im guessing the VR6 one is. Yea...i did consider converting to 5 stud...but ive bought most of the stuff to build my front subframe and suspension up..and id need another rear axle so im keeping it 4 stud. Ill put all the photos on of the build once its done ;) And yea...the old engine is going back in the A3 in the next few weeks :) Hows yours going? strimmer 0 Posted September 30, 2010 http://www.myturbodiesel.com/1000q/a3b4 ... r-swap.htm About half way down the page is the 25mm master cylinder and part number, its not cheap new about £145 imported from America IIRC but they do turn up now and then.
