jack 0 Posted August 24, 2010 I have taken my C of the road for the winter and planning on doing a underside restoration. I have bought a new cross member and engine carrier and was wondering if it is ok to support the engine underneath with wooden blocks when removing these parts. I dont have a engine crane/support. davidwort 0 Posted August 24, 2010 much much safer to get an engine and gearbox support beam that sits on the inner wing tops, that way you can still move the car around if you need to, I bought a new one for little over 50 quid recently.

davidwort 0 Posted August 24, 2010 e-bay, high rated shop, I've seen a few second hand sealey/draper/clarke ones go for about 30 quid too, you could always sell a new one on once you've done with it, probably only lose 20-30 quid. google search too, just found this http://www.abbeypowertools.co.uk/car-se ... 53094.aspx seriously though, an engine support post from a user called jack
