Kevin Bacon 5 Posted February 12, 2004 Oh dear.....the nice bullseye I picked up on Sunday has now grown into a full on crack....about 3 feet, split from the above the mirror right across to the tax disc :( Quite amusing watching it grow on the way to work this morning actually.....the faster you drive, the quicker the crack grows! Anyway, we've discussed on a few occasions what a PIA the Corrado screen is, so has anyone had any experience of Nationwide Auto Glazing, as that is who the preferred supplier is with my ins company? Cheers K
andycowuk 0 Posted February 12, 2004 is it bonded in like the rallye or ed 1? Or just seals?
Henny 0 Posted February 12, 2004 bonded... badly in my case...
Kevin Bacon 5 Posted February 12, 2004 is it bonded in like the rallye or ed 1? Or just seals? Not too sure mate, bit of both I think...... I'm just concerned about the plastic trims under the wipers as I couldn't get them off being careful about it......if they just try and yank them off, they'll break :( Plus the seals are renowned for peeling up at the top corners of the screen once it's been changed......lovely! andycowuk 0 Posted February 12, 2004 if u take your time getting them off....think the wiper arms have to be removed too.....then drive to the place to get your nice new double glazing installed.....could I interest you in a lorrimer door for your car? :D
jedi-knight83 0 Posted February 12, 2004 bugger....although surely if they break the trim bellow the wipers they will have to buy and fit new ones? i have a stone chip right in my line of sight...im waiting till my MOT to find out if it needs replacing
Kevin Bacon 5 Posted February 12, 2004 Andy - Lorrimer door could be tricky to install but a nice Sash window for the rear quarters would be cool? Jedi - If the crack/chip/bullseye is bigger than a 50p, the screen needs renewing :( K
Kevin Bacon 5 Posted February 13, 2004 All sorted.....booked in for next saturday. Going for a top tint screen again as I had one in my MK2 and like them. The guy has done Corrados before and in his own words "...can be a little awkward...." but he's confident he can get it all sealed in nice and tightly..... he's going for all new seals (won't be reusing the encapsulated one) and those and the top tint will be going on the ins  K
