G60BoyRacer 0 Posted October 21, 2010 Can anyone tell me the difference between a G60 oil pump and a 16v oil pump. They both look identical side by side, but the G60 one is 3 times as much! failing that does anyone have a new g60 pump for sale. thanks
Album56 0 Posted October 22, 2010 Do they have the same part no? if not then there are likely to be differences.
boost monkey 0 Posted October 22, 2010 They are completely different. the shaft which reachs from the sump up to the aux shaft to provide the drive is longer on the 16v. the actual drive section on a 16v is splined (like a driveshaft) but the 8v item is notched. Do not mix them up! hth, Jon.
davidwort 0 Posted October 22, 2010 G60 pump is unique to the PG/1H engines (G60 engined cars and Rallye) I'd imagine it's because it's a high capacity version of the 8v pump, i.e. drives distributor, although it may well deliver the same capacity as one of the valver pumps.
