NewbridgeJob 0 Posted October 24, 2010 Right, was going to tackle removing the top cover so i can have a look at the condition of the tensioner pads/guide rail etc but i cant get the last bolt out in the coil pack that is bolted to the top cover. My question is this, does anyone know if theres any reason i cant remove the top cover with the coilpack still attached and obviously just remove all the HT leads etc as this last screw is an absolute bugger to remove and isn't budging. I dunno why they've used allen bolts to secure them on as my fingers are cut to shred now Thanks in advance
bendy3 0 Posted October 24, 2010 Hi, I dont know if its possibble. But you could try these http://www.machinemart.co.uk/shop/product/details/5-piece-bolt-grip-set They work on anything.
NewbridgeJob 0 Posted October 24, 2010 Hmm might be possible but each bolt is quite close to the coilpack itself so not sure if those sockets got fit round the bolt. It's a pain in the arse that 1 screw is Gettin in the way
NewbridgeJob 0 Posted October 25, 2010 Doesnt look big enough to get a bolt grip round.. Anyone know then? Having looked at it i dont see why i couldnt remove the top cover with the coilpack still attached but just need to make sure so im not wasting my time
Roger Blassberg 0 Posted October 26, 2010 I had exactly the same problem with the bolts, and the smallest Irwin will fit and remove them. They are an absolute "must" for your toolbox ; I have lost count of the problems they have solved. Best wishes RB
