domwells27 0 Posted October 29, 2010 Ok, so ever since I have swapped my chargers over I have horrendous belt squeal. Sounds just like a budgie hiding in my engine bay. From cold it's always squeaky, but once up to temp it doesnt squeak on idle, but still squeaks anytime i'm on throttle. I poured a few drops of water on the belt and the squeal stops, but can't quite remember if this means the belt is too tight or loose. If it's too loose I guess it means the tensioner is shagged. Are the solid tensioners any good, are they adjustable? If its too tight what can I do? Cheers Dom
domwells27 0 Posted October 30, 2010 Any body? Getting pretty embarrasing now :(
Rob_B 0 Posted October 30, 2010 have you tried changing the belt? i wouldn't put a solid tensioner on there, try changing the belt first then sourcing a tensioner second
