Unplugging HT leads from VR6 Coilpack

Recommended Posts

Is there a special way? Need to take my brand new leads off to try another coilpack and when I removed the old ones half of them ended up breaking off inside the coilpack..

Peel the rubber back all round before attempting to pull off by the body. Possibly try get some wd40 inside the rubber seals using the straw.

And yes, I'm talking about the leads...lol

Normally come off easily. Seems like some sort of corrosion/arcing process has cemented them in. The spraying with something to ease the bond, as just suggested, seems to be the best route to take.

There's no way HT leads should break off that easily unless they are cheap schitty ones. They're not those garbage GSF ones are they? BBT branded I think.

The old ones may have been but the ones I replaced them with are OEM Beru ones .. more reason not to damage them! Think it may be a garbage coilpack but not sure.
