poofpaddy 0 Posted December 17, 2010 Hello everyone Please can anyone give me advice or any pre warnings on replacing my VR6 injectors Many thanks in advance Marc
VR6Joni 0 Posted December 17, 2010 Remove them on the car by swinging on them, and fit them off the car with a great feck off clamp! A bit of lube on the o-rings helps too! Clean rail and manifold bores well as they are a bit on the tight side
C488ADO 0 Posted December 17, 2010 Injectors will pop out while connected to the rail if persuded enough, not a great job but not hard to do, be cardul not to nip the o rings when relocating back as thus will cause a bit of a leak..... Make sure all are located all the way home
Kevin Bacon 5 Posted December 18, 2010 Best to take them out when the engine is hot. They'll come out really easily :D Relieve the rail pressure via the little allen bolt first though.
Timbo 0 Posted December 18, 2010 Don't replace the injector seals unless you're feeling rich as they're £3.50 EACH from the stealer.
science 0 Posted December 18, 2010 I'm in the process or replacing mine right now. Why din't I check the injectors when I rebuilt the engine a couple of months ago. DOH! Had a clearance issue while trying to extract an allen bolt near the middle of the upper manifold, kept catching on the dipstick tube and the fan cowling. Required an inch to be cut off a 6mm allen key to get it. Other than that removing them has been easy. I'll see what else happens when I refit them them tomorrow... I found this place; http://mrinjectoruk.co.uk/Bosch-0280150 ... 01472.aspx for spares. Do you have another set to go back in, or are you reconditioning them?
