Das-Uberboost 0 Posted January 9, 2011 Hi, does any one know the torque setting for the bolts which hold the rear beam mounting brackets to the chassis. Any help would be great, thanks.
jimpy66 0 Posted January 9, 2011 According to Bentley- 70 Nm/ 52 lbft
Das-Uberboost 0 Posted January 9, 2011 Thanks, that doesn't seem a lot ! Especially as the whole rear axle is held on by these, was surprised too when I saw how short they were.
jimpy66 0 Posted January 9, 2011 I've never done them, but i notice that they go into fairly short pockets, so that'd be right!
Das-Uberboost 0 Posted January 9, 2011 I just have the fear now that I will be driving along, and next thing iv left the rear wheels behind !
jimpy66 0 Posted January 9, 2011 Hmmm- spot welds for you then!
boost monkey 0 Posted January 9, 2011 That sounds about right. I've swapped the beam on my car a couple of years ago. the little stubby bolts lock in quite tight! And I think the suspension will still keep the beam on the car if all else fails
Das-Uberboost 0 Posted January 10, 2011 Think I'll give them one last check tonight, put my mind at rest ! Cheers for the info.
boost monkey 0 Posted January 10, 2011 the bolts that hold the beam to the brackets are like 100+ lbft though. some serious torque needed there.
Das-Uberboost 0 Posted January 10, 2011 Is that the ones going through the bush ? I just got my big impact gun on them, there never coming loose !
