Adam Darby 0 Posted February 19, 2004 hi is it possible to fit a G60 head, inletmanifold, supercharger and a G60 ECU to my 1.816v corrado.
BigTartanJudge 0 Posted February 19, 2004 Type this into the search..... g60 AND 16v AND conversion Been discussed a lot, sure it is possible but is expensive and requires custom parts e.g pistons etc. Cheers BigTartanG60
scruffydubbers 0 Posted February 19, 2004 dont think he is talking about doing a 16v g60, think he means putting a g60 head, charger, ecu on to a 16v block, could be wrong tho if this is what you mean i dont think it is possible,
GazzaG60 0 Posted February 19, 2004 compression will be high. maybe too high for the forced induction route or it might make a interesting 10:1 ish standard pulley G60. Mounting the injection is slightly different. your gonna need a digi 1 loom and sensors. most can be made to fit easily but im not sure if the knock sensor will bolt straight to a KR block. your gonna need blue CTS o2 probe knock sensor ISV (if different) fuel rail, injectors, regulator. Throttle body(unless you are gonna run a dump valve. The KR dizzy will work with Digi 1 so thats ok. gonna need stuff like pulleys etc. would be easier to buy a full engine and even easier to swap the car for a G60 if thats what you want problem with this is you are taking away your biggest asset in airflow. A G60 is toss at flowing air due to 8v and couterflow creating tight ports. ultra porting will only take it to std 16v flowrates. chuck a turbo on the valve with some engine management and youll make greater, nicer more usable power than a G60 conversion ever could. if thats what your after. Adam Darby 0 Posted February 19, 2004 cheers i think i might just tune up my 1.8 16v like 2 liter bottomend gas flow head 4 branch manifold and new chip. then maby some cams later on.
BigTartanJudge 0 Posted February 19, 2004 From the BahnBrenner website...., Build Option #2 (16V As Your Base Engine): If your starting base engine is the 16V platform then you can use a thicker copper head gasket to achieve a lower compression ratio for use with the boost. This is not the best or correct way to generate the proper compression ratio on any engine, although it is a simple and less expensive route. The preferred method on the 16V base engine is to also use custom pistons with the correct compression ratio for this Supercharged system. BBM has these custom pistons in a limited quantity. Required G60 Parts: G60 G-Lader Supercharger G60 G-Lader mounting brackets and belt tensioner complete G-Lader outlet (silencer box) G60 Serpentine / idler pulleys for water pump and alternator G60 AC pump or European water pump pulley G60 Throttle body, complete G60 Fuel Injectors and FPR G60 Idle stabilizer valve (ISV) G60 Digifant1 ECU and engine wire harness G60 Digifant control relay G60 Oxygen sensor G60 Water temperature sensor (blue) (CTS) G60 CO% potentiometer G60 Relays, fuel pump G60 Intercooler hoses to and from the G-Lader G60 Lower water pump pipe Upper and lower coolant hoses G60 Radiator and fan assembly PLUS Custom pistons at around £450-600 Cheers BigTartanG60
