carrots 1 Posted February 8, 2011 hi all my 1.8 16v is using water,ive checked for leaks and cant find any its had a waterpump,thermostat,expansion tank and cap,rad and a oil cooler.i borrowed a sniff test kit ,got the car warm then did the test.the fluid starts off blue and it says if it turns yellow ive got exhaust gases going in the water.my fluid turned a green colour,does this say headgasket to you.also is a metal headgasket worth fitting.bit worried that the heads been skimmed a few years ago before i got it Quote Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
