dubberbaz 10 Posted February 12, 2011 hi i have a corrado 16v 2.0i 9a engine it ran out of petrol and now wont start i have put £20.00 of fuel in it primed the pump and it started but cut out as soon as i touched the throttle and now wont start again just asking if anyones got any ideas as the wife told me to get rid but i have parked at my mums so she thinks i have lol i dont want to spend loads on it as i could get a new engine for £100-150 i have a spare metering unit and also a spare isv and ecu that i am going to try just asking if anyone has had problems like this and how they fixxed it Quote Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
volksworld13 0 Posted February 12, 2011 can you hear the fuel pump prime? have you got fuel up to the metering head? how much fuel did you put it? if it went completely empty , i would a least put 3 gallons in, 3 jerry cans. also check all of your vacuum pipes to see if they are split or come adrift. boost monkey 0 Posted February 12, 2011 probably some crap from the tank got sucked through the pump and it now blocking one of the lines as you ran it to empty. I'd recommend checking the lines from the tank are clear and maybe flushing the pump through with some good petrol. Quote Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
