neuon2003 0 Posted June 14, 2011 Just wondering how critical it is to use VW hubs and stub axles, or whether OEM pattern parts are OK? I understand that VW parts are preferred for bushes, bearings, drop links, ball joints etc. but haven't come across any discussion on these two bits. Big difference in price, of course. A TPS supplied VW front hub with rotor is £85.00 a side cf. a pattern one at £25.00 delivered. Not sure on the OEM manufacturer (Topran/Febi?). Any advice, please? aide 0 Posted June 14, 2011 reserached this myself, general consensus is the pattern ones are made of cheese :)
neuon2003 0 Posted June 14, 2011 Thanks aide. I suspected this was wallet emptying time again. Do you know what type of cheese? Some of them are pretty hard

Alex_G60_Fanatic 0 Posted June 14, 2011 Thanks aide. I suspected this was wallet emptying time again. Do you know what type of cheese? Some of them are pretty hard  it's probably a "Käse" or something german surely!
neuon2003 0 Posted June 14, 2011 LOL. That's a very good point indeed. Should be able to find a suitable 'Hartkäse' here: http://www.germanfoods.org/consumer/facts/guidetocheese.cfm
mikkijayne 0 Posted June 14, 2011 Very badly machined cheese! I have some Topran hubs and they are utter garbage. I wouldn't recommend them to anyone.
