Wompa 0 Posted June 23, 2011 Hi! I have some cooling issues with my VR6. The water temp i about 95-100 celcius if I dont have my slimlines one and the oil is 112celcius. I dont really now whats wrong because I have change the water pump, radiator, headgasket and flushed the whole system... Can it be a bad quality radiator that brings the temp up so high? But if I start my slimlines the watertemp on highway speed goes down to 80c but the oil is still on 108-116 celcius... I cant figure out why in hell its so damn high! Any ideas? Critical_Mass 10 Posted June 23, 2011 When is it at 95-100? Idling, after a spirited run or just general use?
Wompa 0 Posted June 23, 2011 95-100 if its about 12-15c outside and on the motorway... In town maybe more but i run my slimlines then... Can gather some information on different situations if you want?
RW1 0 Posted June 23, 2011 Have a look up the filter housing. http://the-corrado.net/showthread.php?56348-Problem-with-VR6-slightly-overheating-with-rising-Oil-Pressure .
Wompa 0 Posted June 23, 2011 HAha! Hope really thats the problem! Easy to fix... I maybe think that its something inside the oil/water heat exchanger...
mattwelcer 0 Posted July 2, 2011 Did you have any luck with your problem and find what's causing it to run hot?
Wompa 0 Posted July 12, 2011 Dont know... I changed the termostat and flushed the radiator but its still keeping 104-110 Oiltemp and 90-100 in water temp. Celsius... But some times the water temp is 85-90... and then go up after a while and maybe go down again. But the oiltemp is quite funny, because if I turn off my headlights the temperatur goes down 6degress or so.. HAHA! Compaired my two radiators and the original one didnt have any resistans when I tried to blow true it... If you know what I mean about that? The new one had more resistans but I dont know if a radiator should have high flow or a low flow true it?
