Alex_G60_Fanatic 0 Posted July 4, 2011 I can't seem to find this part on vagcat, could someone who is a kind and lovely human being please help me to locate the part code for the T-piece on engine block that connects to the upper radiator hose? Circled on this image in RED Also... this seems to be leaking from the engine side of the part. Does this part come with a gasket? If not would some gasket sealant do the trick? Thank you! :thumbleft:
davidwort 0 Posted July 4, 2011 ah, a leaky flange, I'll go and get you the number, yes, it comes with a rubber o-ring
Jim 2 Posted July 4, 2011 Make sure you clean the mating surface when you remove the old one so that it's nice and clean and smooth and the gasket stands a chance of sealing!
davidwort 0 Posted July 4, 2011 (edited) 037 121 132B and o-ring 037 121 687 if you get one from VW it probably comes with the seal might as well do the one on the end of the head too, which is the same as an 8v corrado, Passat or mk3 golf 8v 026 121 144A (I know these ones can be had a lot cheaper from ECP etc, not sure about the front one as it's G60 specific number wise.) Roger Blassberg 0 Posted July 5, 2011 Just done this on my Passat ABF engine, (which, incidentally, your diagram looks like rather than an 8V G60 engine - be aware of the possible differences). I took off the inlet manifold because the top bolt of the 3 on the elbow was very difficult , even completely impossible, to get a hexagon wrench onto with the manifold in the way. The plastic elbow had broken up internally around the seal groove, and the seal itself was totally useless. The mating face on the head was caked in lime deposits and needed thoroughly cleaning up with a plastic scraper and very fine wet and dry paper - all this would have been impossible to do properly with the manifold in place. Best wishes RB

I'm not sure they have the diagram for the 8v PG engine for every componant so they often use another engine in the diagram. Also, thanks to the inlet manifold going round the back of the PG engine the only thing in the way of that bracket is a few charger and water hoses. Should be a doddle to change.... Whoops, probably jinxed it now! :bonk: ---------- Post added at 09:50 AM ---------- Previous post was at 09:33 AM ---------- 037 121 132B and o-ring 037 121 687 if you get one from VW it probably comes with the seal might as well do the one on the end of the head too, which is the same as an 8v corrado, Passat or mk3 golf 8v 026 121 144A (I know these ones can be had a lot cheaper from ECP etc, not sure about the front one as it's G60 specific number wise.) thanks for these David. I bought some Febi parts from VW spares. Didn't say if it came with the O-ring or not though. If not i can always go into the local VW garage and beg them for one. 037 121 132B - £5.30 026 121 144A - £3.50 For anyone who cares...
