chrissgoduk 10 Posted July 10, 2011 Hi i have just fitted weitec suspension to my vr6. moved it off my drive and the osf spring has jumped off its seat. Is this because the top mounting plate which sitts on the spring is to small or did i just fit it incorrectly . I had to use original as the kit didnt come with any. Any advise would be great
Critical_Mass 10 Posted July 10, 2011 These are shocks and springs right? If the kit is the correct kit for the car, im sure it is, the original spring plate should fit. I would take it apart and check it all fits together ok, then put it back on the car. Spring and shock kits dont come with their own top plate, you do have to use the original top plate. chrissgoduk 10 Posted July 10, 2011 Thinking about it it might be the top bearing is to tight or not moving forcing the spring to move when turning
Critical_Mass 10 Posted July 10, 2011 Could be. Is the other side ok, if so then i suspect you've just over tightened or assembled it incorrectly. Worth taking it back off an checking. If you've put the top mount too tight it will wear quickly. You only nee to nip that nut up, but the very top nut (engine bay) needs to be done up enough
Supercharged 2 Posted July 10, 2011 What year car do you have? The Front spring top plates changed on the later cars
Jim Bowen 1 Posted July 10, 2011 says a 93 in his sig. i reckon it will be the smaller spring plates being used
