Redfox 10 Posted August 11, 2011 Hi all, Since going from my former Mk. II Golf, to my new Corrado G60 (1991), I managed to salvage a few bits and bops for my new project... ehrmm car. For example I have my Eibach strut tower bar, part nr. 8502920VA. This I would like to install on my Corrado, but on the Corrado there's a few things attatched to the struts. Do I have to relocate these, or do I have to drill extra holes in the round parts of the bar to adapt the items, or will I have to knock off some mounting pins completely, to lay the bar flat on the strut towers? Any comment and experience is most wellcome. If need be, I can take a snapshop to explain further. Cheers, Redfox.
dragon green 5 Posted August 11, 2011 Make two little brackets (tabs) one for each side, just a couple of inches long,8mm hole in one end 6mm in the other. Duplicate this on the other tab. Cut off the bolt in the turrent. Fit your strut brace, now the long bolt that holds the brace to the turrent use this to hold the tab on. Repeat this for the other end. And the jobs a good un Good luck

Redfox 10 Posted August 11, 2011 Thanks Dragon Green, I'll try it out as soon as it gets dry around here. Nice bearings; is that adjustable from say KW? Cheers, Redfox.
Redfox 10 Posted September 18, 2011 Hi all, New question, before I drill some holes and cut off the tabs that is in the way. It's still pouring down .... Hmmm. Can the big ones be screwed off or do they have to be cut as well? And when I place the strut bar on top of that (not cut off yet), there's not enough room to close the hood. Do I have to knock a dent in it or use a VR6 hood, or is it just a very tight fit, when installed? Redfox 10 Posted October 19, 2011 (edited) Thanks. Now I need to find out why the Eibach arb is hitting the track arms when I reverse??? Is it meant to be mountet upside down on a Corrado (g60-1991) compared to a Mk. II Golf? Or the same as the Golf, and which way? Eyebolts above or below track arms? I put them in already, and never had them rubbing on my lowered Golf, but the make some strange noise when reversing in the Corrado. I read through old posts and general googleing, but I simply cannot find anything clear, as many people write different thing. Help greatly appreciated ;) Cheers, Redfox.
