Spoiler Mech, broken may do?

Recommended Posts

Trying to take my spoiler and mech off and i had to snap some of the black plastic bits where it screws onto tailgate inside.

Hoping i can just swap over the broken plastic bit, maybe someone has a faulty mech lying around.

Will try and get some pics of it later, but struggling to get it out of tailgate

Erm, I have a fully working one on the car I am breaking at the moment if that helps? From memory, they are a pain to get out though :(

Not a good combo - plastic nut housing, metal nut and locktite + 16+ years. Both my brackets split, and I had to (carefully) drill off one bolt head.

Used a longer s/s M6 hex button head to replace the stock one, with a washer and locknut on the original repaired bracket. If you cant get hold of a replacement, JB (Marine) Weld is excellent stuff for repairs like these.

exactly what mine did, cracked the plastic and nothing to grip nut, i got fed up and hit it with a hammer till i had broke enough plastic to get it off (was one of them moments)....

Might try and find a broken one if that bit can be separated from the rest of it.

Whats a working one worth?
